3 Year Olds
Core curriculum - 3 or 5 days 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Students learn a variety of cognitive skills through play based learning. The alphabet, numbers, colors and shapes are integrated throughout the curriculum. Children can choose independent activities such as block building, easel painting, housekeeping area, reading center, to name a few. They also work one on one with a teacher on some activities. Seasonal songs, finger plays and stories are part of the daily routine. A classroom library allows students to check out a book to share at home and then return. Students also take part in a weekly music program, along with the 4 year olds. They participate in outside time each day to allow for gross motor activities. An indoor area is available to be used when there is inclement weather. Snack and drink are served each day.
This core class meets Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from September - June. The maximum class size is 16 students, with two teachers. Students must be 3 years old by October 1st and potty trained.
On Mondays these students will be guests in our young 4s classroom.
Friday is Fun Day where students step out of the regular classroom setting and come together and learn about additional exciting topics according to their interests.
Enhanced Program - 3 or 5 days 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m
In addition to the skills and activities offered in the core program, this enhanced offering includes enrichment activities 3 days per week, lunch and rest or quiet activity time.
